Franz Bauer is just a Luftwaffe Feldwebel, a ground crewman serving with a bomber unit; he's so generic that he has no personal Advantages, and his Disadvantages are very common. However, his predicament is far from usual.
His unit has already taken severe losses, and a few hours ago one of the bombers would not have taken off, due to an accident suffered by a tail gunner. Franz, being an armorer, volunteered to go. This is uncommon, but it does happen. However, Franz was unlucky enough that his bomber was hit. The pilot managed to crash-land on a grassy hill in the middle of nowhere. Franz's comrades were either dead or unable to move due to the wounds, but he decided that he wouldn't surrender. He grabbed some stuff from the emergency kit, and ran.
Now Franz is out at dusk in the English countryside. His vague plan is to stay put in daylight, move at night, reach the Channel and steal a motorboat. If he'll see that that is impossible, he wants to carry out some sabotage and to remain free as long as possible. His secondary specialization is with radios, so he thinks he might try to sabotage radio stations. His flares can be used to set flammable things afire. He'll keep wearing his uniform.
Naturally, Franz has no experience whatsoever of survival outdoors, not to mention boating or special operations. But he's very determined, and sometimes amateurs can be dangerous.
