A son of King Brighton's Valet, Keith was about the same age as the King's 3rd son, Prince Benjamin. He was falling into the mold of being the Prince's friend, advisor and bodyguard, and being taught how to best be able to fight and defend the Prince when heavy arms and plate armor were not available. This might well have proven a great gig in life except an Elder thing used incomprehensible dark arts no honest wizard or even a few dishonest ones could understand, and slew the royal family merely to retrieve one idle curio sitting on a shelf in the room.

It then vanished, and the resultant civil war ripped the small kingdom to shreds. Since then Keith has survived by his wits and his blade.
